1959: JOHN BERRY was born in Aiken, South Carolina. His best-know hits include Your Love Amazes Me, She’s Taken A Shine and Change My Mind.
2009: CARRIE UNDERWOOD released Cowboy Casanova as the lead single from her third studio album, Play On. It went to number one on the country singles chart.
2015: RASCAL FLATTS released I Like The Sound Of That as the final single from their album, Rewind. It became the trio’s 13th number one hit.
2017: A public memorial service was held for Troy Gentry of MONTGOMER GENTRY at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Gentry was killed September 8 in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey.
2018: CARRIE UNDERWOOD’s album Cry Pretty was released. It became her seventh number one country album.

GARTH’S DIVE BAR TOUR:
Starting October 11 in Oklahoma, GARTH BROOKS will play select dive bars. Tickets will only be available via radio contests and those in attendance will be required to show proof of vaccination. In the meantime, Garth is leaning that his stadium tour will not return in 2021, though he has yet to make a final decision.
TANYA TUCKER CANCELS ALL SHOWS:
Following hip surgery and the recent escalation of Covid, TANYA TUCKER has canceled the remainder of her 2021 tour dates. She hopes to return to the road in early 2022.
COLE SWINDELL’S MOTHER DIES:
Betty Carol Rainey, the mother of COLE SWINDELL has passed away. Cole left his post as opening act on THOMAS RHETT’s Country Again tour to return home to Georgia yesterday (Monday). It was eight years ago in early September that Cole lost his father, William Keith Swindell unexpectedly, which was the inspiration for his hit, You Should Be Here.
C2C FEST RETURNING NEXT MARCH:
The C2C Festival in the United Kingdom and Ireland is set to return March 11-13 after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Headliners for next year’s event will be LUKE COMBS, MIRANDA LAMBERT and DARIUS RUCKER with other performers to include ASHLEY MCBRYDE, BRETT YOUNG, KIP MOORE and SCOTTY MCCREERY.
DOLLY WINS AN EMMY:
DOLLY PARTON’s Netflix movie, Christmas On The Square won two trophies at the 2021 Emmy Awards. The accomplishment makes Dolly one of under 100 people to be nominated for a Grammy, Tony, Emmy and Oscar award.
