1942: LEE GREENWOOD was born. He has charted more than 30 hits on the country singles chart, the best-known being God Bless The U.S.A.
1982: WILLIE NELSON’s Always On My Mind album was at number one on the country album chart. It spent 22 weeks in that position and was the top album of the year.
1991: GARTH BROOKS’ third studio album, Ropin’ The Wind topped the country album chart, replacing his sophomore album, No Fences in that position.
2003: ALAN JACKSON released what would become his 22nd number one hit, Remember When.
2018: FREDDIE HART died at age 91. The Canadian born singer was best-known for the hit Easy Loving.

CMA PERFORMERS REVEALED:
The Country Music Association has revealed the first list of performers for this year’s CMA Awards, airing November 9 on ABC. MIRANDA LAMBERT, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, LAINEY WILSON, CARLY PEARCE, LUKE BRYAN, MORGAN WALLEN, JIMMIE ALLEN, KELSEA BALLERINI and HARDY are among the performers. The show will open with a tribute to the late LORETTA LYNN who died October 4.
ALAN JACKSON TO RECEIVE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
ALAN JACKSON will be honored with the Country Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award during this year’s CMA Awards. The honor recognizes Jackson for his influence and success both in the United States and other countries with regard to country music. The award was established in 2012 with the first recipient being WILLIE NELSON. A tribute segment with DIERKS BENTLEY, JON PARDI, CARRIE UNDERWOOD and LAINEY WILSON paying tribute to Jackson will also be part of the awards show.
WYNONNA TO RE-CREATE JUDDS FINAL SHOW:
Nearly 31 years to the day THE JUDDS’ final concert took place on December 4, 1991, WYNONNA will re-create the event with The Judds: Love Is Alive, The Final Concert on November 3 at Middle Tennessee State University. Her current tour mates, MARTINA MCBRIDE, ASHLEY MCBRYDE, KELSEA BALLERINI, LITTLE BIG TOWN and BRANDI CARLILE will join her for the concert, which will be filmed for a CMT special to air next March.
LUKE COMBS SNAGS PEOPLE’S CHOICE NOMS:
Nominations are out for the People’s Choice Awards and LUKE COMBS will not only represent country music, but will compete in the all genre categories of Favorite Male Artist and Album of the Year for his latest project, Growin’ Up. Fans can vote online through November 9 at votepca.com and the awards will be handed out December 6.
