GARTH CALLS TO MAKE SCALPING ILLEGAL:
In the wake of the Ticketmaster saga on Capitol Hill that stems from TAYLOR SWIFT ticket sales, GARTH BROOKS has written a letter urging lawmakers to make ticket scalping illegal. Garth has taken significant measures to hamstring scalpers to his concerts for many years and believes the practice is detrimental to the true fans.
WYNONNA DOESN’T EXPECT TOUR TO LAST:
After several months of collaborating with her friends, WYNONNA says THE JUDDS’ Final Tour does not look to continue much longer. For Wy, the shows have been a means of dealing with her own grief, but she indicates that season is coming to a close. She is also at work on new music and will move back into her solo career at some point in the near future.
LUKE COMBS IS GETTING’ OLD:
First, he was Growin’ Up, now LUKE COMBS is Getting’ Old on his new album. The 18-song project, Getting’ Old, will hit stores March 24 and Luke says it’s an encapsulation of his life and where he hopes things are going moving forward. Luke will kick off his world tour in support of the new music on March 25 in Texas.
REBA’S PLACE OPENS:
Tonight (Thursday(, REBA MCENTIRE will open Reba’s Place in Atoka, Oklahoma. The two-story venue is a restaurant and includes a performance venue. While the opening itself is private, fans can log on to www.facebook.com/reba to catch her performing in honor of the grand opening at 6:45p CT. The menu includes everything from the Fancy Steak Dinner to Street Taco’s, Chicken Fried Steak and the singer’s favorite: Pinto beans and cornbread.
STAPLETON TO SING AT BIG GAME:
CHRIS STAPLETON will help kick off Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona by singing the national anthem. The game is set to air February 12 and will air on FOX.
FASTER HORSES HEADLINERS SET:
The 10th Annual Faster Horses festival is set for July 14-16 in Brooklyn, Michigan. Headliners will be LUKE BRYAN, SHANIA TWAIN and the ZAC BROWN BAND. Others set to perform will include DUSTIN LYNCH, DWIGHT YOAKAM, BILLY CURRINGTON, CHRIS CAGLE, BLANCO BROWN and PRISCELLA BLOCK.
