1962: TRACE ADKINS was born in Sarepta, Louisiana. His career includes both singing and acting with some of his biggest hits including This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing, Honkytonk Badonkadonk and Every Light In The House.
1965: CONNIE SMITH’s hit, Once A Day was at number one. It was the first debut single by a female country artist to accomplish the feat and spent eight weeks at the top of the chart.
1968: JOHNNY CASH recorded the album Live At Folsom Prison at the San Francisco facility in front of 2,000 inmates.
1969: TAMMY WYNETTE’s fourth studio album, Stand By Your Man was released.
1971: CHARLEY PRIDE was at number one with his signature hit, Kiss An Angel Good Morning.

DIERKS BENTLEY TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM:
For the first time in four years, DIERKS BENTLEY will release a new album. Gravel & Gold will be out February 24 and will contain 14 new tracks, one of them with ASHLEY MCBRYDE on backing vocals. Dierks says the project was a long time coming, because he made two albums he felt didn’t measure up, so he scrapped both of them and kept working until he put this group of songs together.
CHICKS TO SPEND SIX NIGHTS IN VEGAS:
After returning to the road in 2022, THE CHICKS have revealed plans for a six-night residency at Zappo’s Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. The trio promise the shows in May will be just the beginning of a year full of live shows and other surprises for fans.
LUKE COMBS DROPPING ALBUM NUMBER FOUR:
While LUKE COMBS’ album, Growin’ Up was released only a matter of months ago, he will release a new project on March 24. Details, including the title are being kept under wraps at this point, though Luke has said the new album will contain 18 songs.
MORE TROUBLE FOR FORMER FLATTS’ MEMBER:
After RASCAL FLATTS’ former guitarist Joe Don Rooney pled guilty to drunk driving last year, word comes that he and wife Tiffany Fallon are embroiled in a messy divorce. The couple, who have three children, have accused one and other of adultery, while Fallon claims Rooney is also addicted to drugs and alcohol. Rooney left the band prior to their announcement of a split in 2020, though their plans for a final tour were scrapped due to the pandemic.
NEW MUSIC FROM CHRIS YOUNG:
Fans of CHRIS YOUNG have two new songs available that will give them a taste of his next album. Looking For You is a romantic ballad about finding love, while All Dogs Go To Heaven is a tune about the bond between pets and their owners and was inspired by Young’s German Shephard, Porter.
KELSEA BALLERINI EXTENDS TOUR:
KELSEA BALLERINI has extended her Heartfirst tour with a hand full of dates in March that find her playing in Canada and the midwestern United States. Ballerini’s calendar will be full this year as she will do a tour of the United Kingdom in February as well as joining KENNY CHESNEY for shows later in the spring and playing a few shows with WYNONNA as part of THE JUDDS’ Final tour.
